The following is a list of frequently asked question. Please select one or scroll through them all.

What kinds of trips do you offer?

We have adventures that range from weekend getaways to three-week treks. We explore Patagonia on foot, by kayak, bicycle, car, cruise ship or a combination of these vehicles. Everyone is welcome. We can teach you to kayak or to safely summit a mountain.

Do you take children on your trips?

Of course, bring them along too! If you want to travel with children, you only need to write us and advise us of what type of trip you believe the kids can handle. We will do the planning so that your children will enjoy the trip just as much as you do!

What do I need to bring?

Usually all you need to bring is your personal gear. A detailed clothing and equipment list is found on General Trip Info. For all of our trips, we provide: tents, kayak gear, sea kayaks, and camping gear, and more.

What is your maximum group size?

We keep our groups small-usually 10 participants or fewer. Our minimum is typically 2, but varies by trip.

Do you offer private departures for small groups?

Yes. We offer private departures for all kinds of groups from couples, families and friends to clubs and organizations.

What's the food like?

On hotel- and refugio-based trips we dine in local restaurants and have the pleasure of experiencing a variety of local cuisine. We eat equally well on our camping trips, which feature an abundance of fresh, delicious food. All water in Patagonia is safe for consumption without filtering or boiling. Of course, we can accommodate special dietary requests (vegetarian, food allergies, etc.) Check out the General Trip Info for more details on food. For a list of which meals are included on your trip, please refer to the specific trip itinerary.

What if I'm traveling alone?

Wonderful! About half of our trip participants are individuals traveling alone. We also have people traveling with a friend, a spouse, or their entire family! Single men as well as single women travel with us. It is a fun, convenient way to experience Patagonia.

What sort of qualifications do your guides have?

Dittmar Adventures' guides have taken and passed the Wilderness First Responder course (first aid in remote places). We also have professional sea kayakers and mountaineers, which allows us to have high standards of quality and safety.
