Activity Level Definitions

We have active trips for every skill level. The following are the definitions of the levels we used to rank each trip:

Comfortable: Adventure travel at its most relaxed pace.

1-3 hours of walking per day
Distances: less than 3 miles most days (4.8km)
Surfaces: flat terrain
Elevation change: little to none

Easy Active: Great for people new to adventure travel.

2-5 hours hiking most days
Distances: Hike up to 6 miles (9.65km)
Surfaces: moderate with a few steep sections
Elevation change: up to 2,000 ft/day (610m)

Active: Recommended for fit travelers.

4-6 hours trekking most days
Distances: Hike up to 10 miles most days (16km)
Surfaces: mountainous terrain with some steep climbs and uneven trails
Elevation change: up to 3,000 ft/day (915m)

Experienced: For fit adventurers with basic outdoor skills

5-8 hours trekking most days
Distances: Hike up to 12 miles most days (19.3km)
Surfaces: mountainous, exposed terrain with steep ascents/descents and uneven trails
Elevation change: up to 4,000 ft/day (1,219m)

Demanding: Designed for very fit travelers.

10+ hours trekking per day
Distances: Hike 12 or more miles most days (19.3km)
Surfaces: remote mountainous, exposed terrain with steep ascents/descents, uneven trails with loose features.
Elevation change: up to 4,000 ft/day (1,219m)
