A journey framed by skies that look like watercolors and icy seas in the middle of wild vegetation and marine animals that accompany the 32-hour navigation that connects the regional capital of Magallanes with the capital of the Antarctic Province. Puerto Williams is located on Navarino Island, an area that was formerly crossed by the Yaganes, a canoeing people who knew how to adapt to the harsh climatic conditions of the area.

On board, passengers enjoy a spectacular journey that includes passing through imposing glaciers, such as Italy, Romanche, Germany, France, among others.

You will spend 2 overnights on the ferry, and one spectacular day of seeing the glaciers. There are on board bathrooms, hot showers, and each traveler will have a personal assigned reclining seat. There is a dining hall aboard which serves 3 meals a day.

Today is likely to be one of the trip’s best kept and little known secrets! Very few have the opportunity to travel slow and arrive to the island this way, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Today you will navigate past the Cordillera Darwin, Agostini National Park, and some of the world’s best kept and least visited glaciers. These glaciers can only be seen doing the trip in this direction, as the reverse they are passed during the night.

Enjoy the day to the fullest, tomorrow you will arrive to the port in Puerto Williams at a very early hour.

Puerto Williams is a small village in Chilean Patagonia, located on the northern shores of the sparsely populated Navarino Island. It is the southern-most populated village on Earth (before reaching Antarctica), and is diagonally opposite the much larger city of Ushuaia, in Argentina. For those who make it here, often depending on the weather conditions, Puerto Williams offers a starting base from which to explore the remote island wilderness, or just take a few days to relax, being relatively cut off from the rest of the world. The town was founded in 1953, has a population of around 2,000 people and is a highly important Chilean Naval base.

Puerto Williams, meaning Williams Port, was named after an Irish Captain called John Williams. The village comprises a number of simple, private houses, a plaza, an airport for air connection to Punta Arenas, a small yacht marina and houses for naval personnel.

Navarino Island is an untouched, remote island in the southern tip of South America. Beyond its southern shores is the famous Cape Horn. The island stands out for its biological diversity and untouched landscapes, as well as retaining a great treasure: the presence of the ancestral, ethnic Yagán people.

After arrival into the port and breakfast we will head out via transfer to the trailhead where our adventure will begin. From the trail head we will see Bandera Hill rise from a Lenga forest at a distance. After an hour of trekking we will reach the forest and continue on the same gravel path until we hike up just above the tree line. To the right we will be able to see Robalo Valley; after leaving the gravel path we will arrive at a waterfall. Here we will set up camp, relax, and have dinner.

Highlights: Bandera Hill, Laguna Salto, Beagle channel, Laguna Salto

    Hike Time: 6-7 hours
    Hike Distance: 11 kilometers / 6.8 miles

Today we will leave Laguna Salto and over the Australia Pass (the highest point is 805 m). There are a few complicated parts, but after the pass we will have an easy climb and arrive at Dientes Pass. From Dientes Pass we have a view of the southern part of Nassau Bay, which includes the Winhound and Wollaston Islands; among these islands you can find Cape Horn and the end of the American Continent. After the pass we will descend, cutting to the west and arrive at the Dientes Lagoon and continue along the border of the lagoon to the north where you can see Gabriel Hill. After a few more moments of walking we will arrive at Laguna Escondida. Upon arriving at Laguna Escondida we will set up camp, relax, and have dinner.

Highlights: Views of Cape Horn, Dientes Pass and Australia Pass

    Hike time: 5-6 hours
    Distance: 9 kilometers /5.6 miles

Today we will cross Ventarron and Guerrico Pass, upon crossing you’ll have unbeleivable views of the valley’s many lakes. We will travel through Guerrico Valley until reaching the southern border and arrive at a beaver dam with a view of Clem Hill. Here we will set up camp, enjoy the view, and have dinner.

Highlights: Remote hiking trails, Paso Ventarron, Clem Hill, pristine landscapes

    Hike Time: 5 hours
    Hike Distance: 8 kilometers / 4.9 miles

You will begin the day hiking up towards Virginia Pass. As you climb up you will see Martillo Lagoon and eventually cross over the pass; from the top of the pass you will have an impressive view of Beagle Channel and Ushuaia. After seeing Laguna Martillo, we need to descend on a path to a cliff; the slope is difficult and dangerous. Here we will arrive at the Guanacos Lagoon, where we have dinner and sleep.

Highlights: Spectacular views of the Beagle Channel, Ushuaia, Laguna Martillo & Laguna Guanaco

    Hike Time: 6-7 hours
    Hike Distance: 10 kilometers / 6.2 miles

In the morning we will descend to Virginia Bay to see an abandoned fishery 8km (4.97 miles) from Puerto Williams. We will take a transfer back to Puerto Williams and stay the night in a hotel and have dinner in town.

Highlights: the town of Puerto Williams, views of Beagle Channel, densely wooded forests

    Hike Time: 4-5 hours
    Hike Distance: 9 kilometers / 5.6 miles
