I went on a 47 day trip organized by Dittmar with a new location and activity every 3 to 5 days. Traveled by myself to celebrate and transition (slow down!) into retirement.

I like to plan vacations and soon became overwhelmed by the number of tours and choices and companies to help. Interviewed a couple and was very easy to settle on Dittmar and Erin and Jessica.

The “app” itinerary was awesome with live links to details, tickets, hotel websites, etc.. Each evening, I would review the next day on the app and was stress free. I did come across many travelers who either they or their agency were not able to stich together the details to be seamless—most notably many had to back track and cut short time on the W hike.

OK, I did have a few of my own challenges in following directions, understanding airport flight data and over 47 days there were two weather/water condition cancellations for safety. Erin and Jessica promptly helped via messaging with how to proceed. While I was on my trip the new government eliminated subsidy on gasoline just as I was to rent a jeep and thus the potential for gas shortages. Proactively Erin reached out and all was fine.

Had awesome guides in Buenos Aires, Santiago and Valparaiso and a great guide and porter on the W and Pumalin National Park. Great advice that no guide or help needed for Cerro Castillo National Park—not to be missed. Ask about Badder valley! Did the cities, lots of hiking, kayaking and 5 days of horseback riding.

Completed the Patagonia W trail. Truly appreciated the unique beauty of this area. Andres was an excellent guide. He was able to educate and share so much about the area and about Chile. The lodging was all very satisfactory. Some of the lodging truly exceeded expectations. Overall Dittmar made themselves very accessible for questions and concerns. They also were highly responsive and acted very efficiently with some unexpected issues that came up. Appreciated their efforts.

If you are looking for a company to plan you next trip to Patagonia don't look any further. We (couple) booked a 4 week trip through Patagonia with Dittmar and can't recommend them enough. After contacting multiple operators Dittmar understood our needs best and being a company partially based in Patagonia we felt that they had some real hands on experience and knowledge, especially Erin who was our main contact. The trip consisted of a mix of self guided hikes, guided excursions, kayaking, self driving, buses, etc. Dittmar organized everything perfectly, the logistics were smooth and hassle free. Hands down a flawless experience. Dittmar is always by your side from the planning stage to the execution with a 24h emergency contact during your trip.

Planning a Patagonia trip seems overwhelming at first, it all looks and sounds great, but the menu is so large. We contacted Dittmar Adventures for information and advice. Their first question was, “what kind of trip would YOU like”? We gave the destinations, activities, and timelines we had in mind. Dittmar developed a general plan, with options we did not know about and some based on past client popularity. Communication was easy, informative, and professional, we soon had an itinerary. This developed into a detailed travel guide with transportation connections, lodging, meals, park information, vouchers, even box lunches for hikes, and more.

Our trip was superb! The plan was organized and went smoothly with no surprises. We encountered other travelers who didn’t have prearranged tickets for catamarans, shuttles, or buses and had to wait hours, hoping to catch the next one. We greatly appreciated the smaller tidbits of information given regarding tips, taxis, currency, weather, and gear options. Patagonia is as wonderful as advertised. The people of Chile (including Rapa Nui/Easter Island), and Argentina were wonderful. We enjoyed the food and cultural aspects just as much as the beauty of the region. Many thanks to Laura, Jimena, and Jessica helping us plan our personal trip of a lifetime!

A huge thank you to Dittmar and to Erin. Absolutely fantastic 20 days spent in Patagonia arranged by them. The planning of the itinerary was simply excellent—a great balance of hiking, remoteness and touring. And, the execution perfect-great guides. And, when we had a logistical problem, it was just sorted by Erin.

We, 10 guys, used Dittmar to plan and go through entire trip of Del Paine National park in Chile for 8 days, starting from our stop over in Santiago, the hotel to stay there, and once landed in Puerto Natales the transportation to our hotel, and 4 day hiking and sightseeing tour of the W circuit in del pine national park.

The entire experience was awesome, they worked with us to customize the pan, recommend hotels ( great stays in Santiago and Puerto Natales).
We had Pedro drive us all 4 days, he was just awesome - safe, chill and courteous to others on the road, and on time every day! Very engaging, stopped to show things around and got us everywhere we needed to be. Did it all with a great smile on his face!
We had 2 guides who hiked with us all 3 days covering 50 miles. They were great guides - Guillermo was friendly, full of energy, full of knowledge about the park, flora/fauna and more than happy to chat and share the knowledge to the curious. Christian was the other guide and he was a task master, kept us going, and had our backs. Whenever somebody was having a little trouble with technical stretches of hiking, he always stayed close, walking them through each step to make sure we made progress and stayed safe. The guides were great combination for our trip and perfect. They were a great company for the whole hiking!

And the lunched they provided were great too, vegetarian friendly where necessary and tasty!

We had a great experience and we attribute it to both the initial planning of the itinerary, individualizing it to what we wanted to do and see. The in-trip support was convenient and very helpful. We felt spoiled as we usually do all our trip planning ourselves. We really felt comfortable asking questions through the web meetings. Erin made several iterations to the itinerary to match our wishes and budget. All our questions were answered!

The travel partners they hand picked were amazing as well. Hotel Albatros was clean and efficient. Armando was informative during our photo tour and went out of his way to show us things we would not have seen on our own. We enjoyed listening to his experiences on the O trek. Karina at Hotel Veat was kind and prepared our sit down breakfast much earlier than the hotel scheduled breakfast. Both drivers with Patagonia Sur Expideciones were prompt and pleasant. We felt safe and comfortable. Bruno made 2 quick stops to let me take pictures on the way to El Calafate which so so great as we were sitting at the back of the bus on the way to the park. Transvip was also efficient and on time. We requested vegan meals and it was well communicated to the hotels and campsites. Vegan meals and lunch boxes by Las Torres, Vertrice and Walk Patagonia were great. Vertrice was great with power bars and electrolytes. Walk Patagonia provided cute reusable pouches.

This was a great team to work with!
