    First, your expedition takes you deep into the heart of two iconic national parks. You will trek along paths used for generations by early pioneers. Consequently, every day on the trail brings a completely new terrain to explore.

    For example, you will navigate lush temperate rainforests and emerge onto high alpine passes. Furthermore, the route reveals stunning views of hanging glaciers spilling down dark volcanic rock. This active international crossing is ideal for serious hikers who want to experience the true scale of the southern Andes.

    Join the scenic Lake Crossing from Varas to Bariloche, traveling by boat and bus along the northern side of Mount Tronador.. A beautiful way to start  the journey! Once in Bariloche our transport will take us to Pampa Linda at the base of Mount Tronador. Settle in and rest well tonight—tomorrow we start early.

    The trail begins gently, following the Cauquenes River upstream through dense bamboo and Nothofagus forest. We stay under the forest canopy most of the day until reaching the border monument, where we officially cross into Chile. From here, we descend for about three more hours with stunning views of the mountain’s southern slopes. Night at Baguales Hut

    We continue through pristine Valdivian rainforest toward La Junta, where the Esperanza and Blanco rivers meet. Here we find the famous Vuriloche Hot Springs, once used by Indigenous communities as a sacred site. Enjoy the natural pools while dinner is prepared. Night at La Junta Hut.
